Description

Electronic data has permeated every aspect of our lives, which means that ediscovery has become an essential component of almost every litigation matter. It used to be seen as a process reserved only for the big law firms – but not anymore. Today, everyone practices ediscovery.

eDiscovery for the Rest of Us is a strategic and tactical resource for legal teams navigating the modern ediscovery landscape, with a particular focus on small firm ediscovery. Still, the comprehensive workflows and discussions featured in the book are universal for teams of all sizes.

Nextpoint, an industry leader in cloud-based ediscovery and litigation support software, partnered with ediscovery expert Tom O’Connor to publish the 2024 edition of eDiscovery for the Rest of Us, featuring new content, enhanced design, and more fresh additions. In the book, you’ll find:

  • Practical discussions that cover the evolving role of AI, a brief history of ediscovery, relevant rules and case law, working in the cloud, and more
  • The eDiscovery Checklist Manifesto, a tangible framework for the ediscovery process, including a NEW section on ESI protocols and meet and confers
  • Step-by-step workflows covering each stage of ediscovery from data collection to document review to production
  • Comprehensive checklists, mini glossaries, and real-world examples of ediscovery software in action

What do industry leaders say?

“Tom O’Connor has been working on cases for decades. His experience includes the largest cases as well as the smallest cases with electronic discovery components. This is important, as sometimes, the smaller cases can balloon into more expensive, mission critical cases… This book has a welcome home on my bookshelf and digital archives.” - Mary Mack, CEO of EDRM
